love the night

the street was fully packed that night, but thank God we found a place, Michaelangelo at Pavillion..didn't really had a good experience in the branch at Sunway previously, but i do hope this time was much better..it did except for one small part..so let the story roll in..

i dont remember the name, but its sort of chocolate drink with whip cream and chocolate sauce..pretty thick..

fegato di pollo bruschetta (RM 19.90)

homemade chicken liver pate with tomato chunks and toasted bread..if you are a liver person, u will adore this, if you are the opposite, you will total reject this. you can still taste the 'seng' smell even with the tomato chunks..but that is the uniqueness right..they said thats the point of eating liver pate..

lumache cotte del burro dell' aglio

translation: baked escargot with garlic..the smell was really nice, really fragant, they love it, but i'm not that delightful, i find it overcooked, a bit too dry and the garlic is slightly owerpowering..you don't really taste the soft texture of the escargot..

capricciosa pizza (artichoke, chicken ham, mushroom and mozzarella cheese) rm 27.90

the pizza was pretty okay, but there is really nothing much to shout about.i hope its more woody oven flavor..dunno why, i dun felt its Italian enuf..haha..who am i to say this huh..

spaghetti con moecche (rm 24.90)

spaghetti with soft shell crab and spicy tomato sauce..the crab was indeed pretty big and pretty good combination with the tomato sauce..slight sourish of the tomato and spiciness of the chillies just make it more appetizing..

aglio olio with prawns (rm 20.90)

if you like spicy, you will love this.i always felt that aglio olio should be a hint of spiciness like what i mention in my previous blog before,,but this is really spicy..and its pretty dry..but you can still taste the garlic and olive oil..i pretty like this..i stole a few mouth from my friend due to my disppointment for the following dish..

risotto di mare (rm39.90)

i haven eaten risotto for quite some time, so i ordered this..after all the waiting and anticipating, its a total disppointment..it was totally uncooked..i mean its pretty obvious from the picture right..so for sure i asked for a change, and i've been waiting for sometime, and what i got is a flooded risotto, they just add more stock on my previous risotto and served it..wtf..

can you imagine the seafood was cook twice under such high temperature and a total flooded risotto, but i was reluctant to do any further complain since everyone is enjoying theirs..such a reknown place in town now, they SHOULD CHANGE A NEW ONE for me right??

pollo alla caciotora (rm 27.90)

i took this in Sunway branch previously, and this is far more better..spaghetti was cooked al dente..chicken roasted prefectly with mozarella..bobby love it..his plate was squeky clean that night..haha.

spaghetti pesto (rm 19.90)

this was my favorite dish of the night..i dunno why, the flavor was jus right for me..very simple, parmesan flakes, pine nuts and pesto, thats all..but its just delicious..that what they say simple is delicious..ill give two thumbs up for this..

ravioli di spinache promodoro (rm 29.90)

yuan said that the appearance doesn't look good..but who cares if it taste good huh..but tastewise is also so so for her..the italian wantan jus doesn't amaze her..haha..

but lucky she still had her usual latte to make it up..someone that cannot leave without latte..and still finding for the best one..

spaghetti alla carbonara (rm26.90)

using the fat streaky bacon and fresh button mushroom jus make carbonara taste much much better with the creamy creamy sauce..still, eat while its still warm to avoid feeling yucky after half way through..

tiramisu

this is a bit dispointment for us too..yes its soft and the mascarpone is creamy, but you don't taste coffee or any Amaretto or Kahlua..which i think is a must for tiramisu..i always love my tiramisu made using finger with the hint of coffee liquor + mascorpone..

lava cake

but this end my dinner with a swee note..seeing the molten chocolate bursting out of its chocolate cave, warm enough accompanied by the cold vanilla ice cream jus make them a great couple..haha..urgh..i hope i have this all by myself and don't need to share with any of them (evil grin)

but good things are meant to be share

love the night as we laugh through Madagascar 2 later on..

xoxo

its desserts time

after California Kitchen and walking around, we headed down to Pavillion for some dessert and so MOF is the next spot to visit..besides knowing they branch from Singapore, i didn't knew it stands for Ministry of Food until that day itself

macha zen RM 12.50

macha ice cream, glutinous ball and of course azuki beans all mix in one bowl, the prefect combination..i love their macha ice cream as you really taste the green tea and the snowy white bal are so soft and chewy, not too soft, but the red beans are too sweet for my liking. the manager explains hokkaido red bean are meant to be sweeter then those normal azuki we had..

sesame shake RM 11.00

black sesame blended with their homemade soft ice cream..to finish the whole glass is pretty filling so dont try with a full stomach..you can still feel the grainy bits of sesame in every sip..good for sesame lover..

macha kurian rm 15.50

kurian is the love of teenager girls in Japan that are diet cautious..it is claim to be kind of slimming food and its actually plant extract..it taste and look like aloe vera without the fiber..they are cut into cubes and serve with more macha ice-cream, soft ice-cream, macha tea and fruits..its really loaded and not forgetting the snowy balls and azuki..all in one but you can stil taste distinct flavor of each..

macha mix imo rm 11.00

this is my favourite, imo is the fried thing at the side made from yam and sweet potato..the crispiness of the light batter covering the soft mushy filling of mashed yam and sweet potato..bites of this, slurp of macha and soft cream, hot and cold..yummy yummy..

im coming back for more..so after walking around, we stopped by this place as someone forbid me to eat xiao long bao at dragon i, and till now i stil haven eat..ish!!

see how adorable are them..cute pettite kuih muih..of course i would said it is a bit overpriced..but sometime you just couldn't resist them right..i really don't have the capability to remember all their names like other blogger..i need more space in my brainy..

Bangsawan was run by two pretty sisters assist by their cute brother..haha..they hired an Indonesian chef to make all this savoury on a daily basis..they do cater for function..and of course they try not to use artificial coloring if it is not needed..this is all claim by them..but flavoring is totally forbidden..they have really lots of varieties, salty or sweet all up to you..mix and match and above is what we got..

tastewise, not to say totally yummylicious but still acceptable, since it is so small, the taste disappear pretty fast..good trick to con people to buy more right..one thing for sure, it is very hygience cause each of them is individual packed..yeah!!

i wan more MOF!!

toodles

Pick n Brew

this is a backdated post..the exam has jus started..but we jus need to sneak out..lame excuse..to celebrate yong, gy sinn dear and chan burfday..i chose Pick n Brew after a long consideration..and called up to make reservation and enquire from Jackson what is a must order item at this place...thanks lot for the suggestion..

so after watching House Bunny which is hillarious enough for us..we just hop on into this place for some sumptious meal..and i really need this cause getting suffocated with the canteen food..

spanish prawn avocado salad (rm 19)

a good start for the meal..refreshing and crispy greens with fresh prawn..but i would prefer it with more bites of avocado..cause i just love the buttery taste of it..

onion soup (rm13)

there are loads of onion..but i felt it stil lack of something slightly which is the sweetness of the onion though the soup really look caramelized..and i would prefer better if its french bread..but this is thier style..drink while it is still warm..

complimentary mushroom soup from the set meal

purely blended wild mushroom soup..some said it lack of the saltiness..but thats what the salt and pepper on the pepper are for right?

chicken cordon bleu (rm 30)

it do looks different from the cordon bleu we had outside..yupp..the chicken is crisp on the outside and soft in the middle..but i would say more cheese for my preference

lamb tikka pilaf rice (rm 17)

this is totally mine...i love the cheese (is it feta) with the tikka..good compliment for each other..flavorful herby smell of the tikka with slight sourness from the lemon..you won't felt yucky..pilaf rice was cook to perfection too!!

moussaka (rm 20)

moussaka is traditionally a Greek dish..it is suppose to be a aubergine based dish but nowadays some substitute them with zucchini or even carrots..with layer of ground meat and layers of bechamel sauce and cream..and cheese alternatively..

but i would say it is pretty filling cause it is so creamy and when it get cold..its pretty difficult to digest..so eat while warm

grenobloise salmon fillet (rm 32)

braised lamb shank (rm 38)

i order this for hy since she is a lamb lover..i mean she is sort of all kind of meat lover..lamb shank on a bed of mash potato and summer vegetable..lamb shank was braised till soft and flaky..not too strong in term of the flavor..just mild..but the fragant of rosemary definetely awaken the taste bud..

baked chicken with mustard and olive (rm 30)

the birthday girl..i only tasted one mouth honestly..but i somehow fell for it..i had difficulty loving tomato flavor dishes all this while..but this jus 'boom' me.the flavor of tomato really do penetrate the chicken..and the chicken is not overcook

i forgotten the correct spelling of this spaghetti..but i think this is pretty typical for me..nothing to shout about besides the big portion..that left someone else finishing it up for susan..ahahha..

baked chicken with pimento

i didn't really taste this..so couldn't really comment on this..but its just so so from the taster themselves.

baked oat almond snapper (rm 28)

i dunno how oat almond differs from almond flakes..but i really don't see almond flakes there..maybe it is not meant to be there..but the fish is just 'ngam ngam' cook..no harsh movement is needed to flake the fish..haha..and one thing for sure..FRESH!! thats the main issue with fish dont they?

bruschetta (rm 18)

'adrenaline coffee'

what i like about their coffee is that they have choices of strong and mild coffee to choose from and explanation for each type of coffee..which i think is barely found..a good place for a cup of coffee for the tea time..crisp of biscotti complimenting the bittery taste of the coffee..

one of the birthday boy requested of chocolate indulgence..so they got it..see how good we are..

the honorable celebrated persona

thanks to the employee of Pick nBrew for willingly to wait for us even its after the operating hour

everyone was pretty satisfy that night thou some of them find this place is a so-so only..but like what they said..all this are so subjective..its personnel.. and also with their present..so i guess my job as the last minute planner din fail that badly huh..

mission accomplished!! yeah!!

I ATE HEALTHILY TODAY but stil its TASTY

the duck and toasted organic black sesame salad

i really don't taste much of the duck meat..i still prefer Delicious Pamelo Duck Salad

Carbonara spaghetti without the cream..substitute by organic farm egg

this is good..without the cream it still taste that good..without the fatty bacon..it still taste that nice..

fresh mushroom puff with truffle oil

this is totally my favorite..the puff is so crispy..and the mushroom saute to perfection..n by the sense of truffle oil just uplift the whole dish, don't they..

Mediterranean dip

2 different kind of bread..2 different kind of dip..especially when the bread is slightly grill upon being serve..mot much of a flavor on the dip..but the bread itself is the one that caught my attention

fishball favorite - ginseng, wolfberries longan tea

she loves this so much..i bet next time she will only come for this..she finish all the 'liu' after finishing the tea

acknowledgement: thanks to fishball for offering to drive me there
